Corey Perry to Miss 3-4 after Hip Check from Keith Ballard

The Anaheim Ducks announced that their leading goal scorer Corey Perry will miss three to four weeks with a knee sprain. Perry suffered the injury after taking a hip check from Wild defender Keith Ballard on Friday night in Minnesota. He went down immediately and did not return, much to the delight of the Wild's fans (see video above).

Ducks coach Bruce Boudreau wasn't happy with the check after the game last Friday. “Ballard’s done that a couple times now. He hits low, I don’t know if it was too low or what because I didn’t want to look at it yet,” Boudreau said. “I’ll look at it on the plane, but it is what it is and we’ll just readjust.”

Perry is currently 6th in the NHL in goals, with 14.
