Stamkos 10th-Youngest to Hit 250-Goal Mark

According to Joe Smith of the Tampa Bay Times, Lightning winter Steven Stamkos became the 10th-youngest NHL player to reach the 250-goal mark when he fired this wrister past Braden Holtby in the second period of the Lightning's 5-3 loss to Washington on Tuesday (see video above).

Stamkos joins such hockey royalty as Wayne Gretzky, Mario Lemieux and Steve Yzerman in reaching the mark prior to his 25th birthday, and he has done so in 439 games.

Stamkos has 17 for the season now, and heading into this evening's contest he was second in goals scored per game to only Alexander Ovechkin among active players (.569 to .616, according to NBC's Pro Hockey Talk).
