There was head contact by Dumba’s shoulder, but the NHL Department of Player Safety examined the video to see if the principle point of contact was the head.The initial belief is the league felt the hit was clean and Dumba won’t be disciplined Wednesday. Regardless, Dumba was not penalized but Eric Gryba was for retaliating.

Dumba Levels Korpikoski with Questionable Hit
Wild defenseman Matt Dumba connects on a big hit on Oilers' left winger Lauri Korpikoski (video above), and while it looks like Dumba's intentions are to make a clean shoulder-to-shoulder strike, its clear that he angles in around Korpikoski's head when he lands his hit. Dumba doesn't leave his feet, and Korpikoski's in a hunched stride as he gathers the puck, so it's hard to fault Dumba here. That said, he chose to make an open ice check, and when it was all said and done he got the head. We know how the NHL feels about protecting its player's noggins. According to Wild beat writer Mike Russo, NHL officials are reviewing the hit and they are leaning towards ruling it clean. Here's what Russo wrote in his blog:
