Max Domi Backhand Roof Job vs. Ducks
Rookie Max Domi is looking like an early front-runner for the Calder after helping Phoenix bust out to a 3-0 start for the first time since 2003-04. Wait a second... did we just say front-runner for the Calder? Why, yes, we did--at the very least he's earned some consideration to gain mention alongside of Connor McDavid and Jack Eichel this season. Not only was his backhand goal a thing of beauty (see above)--check out this transition burst off a nuetral-zone turnover. The 20-year-old first-round pick in the 2013 draft has wheels, and presence. Domi draws the defense with blazing speed then leaves the puck on the doorstep neatly so teammate Anthonly Duclair can poke hit home for the goal. Here's the full speed: And here's the slo-mo: Domi's fellow rookie Duclair was also spectacular during the Coyotes 4-0 win over the Ducks. He netted a hat-trick in the first half of the game to become the franchise's first rookie to do so since Daniel Carcillo in 2008.
