Stamkos Gets 500th Point in Win over Bruins

Steven Stamkos' latest ripper is a milestone, too. The 25-year-old human highlight reel notched his 500th career point during the Bolts 6-3 win at TD Garden today, reaching the mark in his 495th game. Only four active players have done it sooner (scroll down to see those names via NHLPR Twitter).

Catherine Silverman of the blog Todays Slapshot points out that its even more impressive that Stamkos has reached the 500-point mark so young -- he missed so many games with his knee injury in 2013-2014.

Stamkos also becomes just the third player to register 500 points for the Tampa Bay franchise.

Meanwhile Claude Julien's Bruins are looking to be in really bad shape at 0-3. They blew a two-goal lead at home and have been outscored by nine goals in their three games. Ouch. The Bruins are 0-3 for the eighth time in history, and the first time since '99.
