NWHL Drops the Puck, Sells Out



Mark the date: October 11, 2015. The day that professional women's hockey in the United States became a viable entity.

The NWHL dropped pucks for its opening weekend in Buffalo, N.Y. (Harbor Center), where the Boston Pride took out the Buffalo Beauts, 4-1, and in Stamford, Ct. (Chelsea Piers), where the Connecticut Whale downed the New York Riveters, 4-1.

The league's first goal was scored by Jessica Koizumi of the Whale, at 2:28 of the first period.
