Watch: Jason Zucker Scores the Fastest Goal to Open Game in Wild History

Is this not the stuff of hockey dreams? Watch as Jason Zucker lingers at the red line for about three seconds after the opening face-off, then, as the puck squirts out to him, proves that was indeed ready to play. First the speedy winger turns on the jets (yes, against the Jets -- ha ha!), then he undresses defender Jacob Trouba, sliding the puck through his legs and emerging unscathed to light the lamp with a twisted wrister, glove side.

Zucker's work of art now stands as the fastest Wild goal to start a game in franchise history. The light came on at :10, which is two seconds faster than Justin Fontaine's previously held record.

Unfortunately for Minnesota the game would be tied 72 seconds later, and Winnipeg would score the next four goals to build a 5-1 lead before hanging on to win 5-4.
