16-year NHL veteran Scott Gomez has been released by the St. Louis Blues. The 36-year-old was not picked up by another NHL team after being placed on waivers this week. Gomez had one goal and seven assists in 21 games for the Blues this season.
Gomez signed a one-year, two-way contract with the Blues in October that paid him $575,000 in the NHL and would have paid him $200,000 to play in the American Hockey League. But with his pending release, Gomez will not report to the AHL.
The veteran centerman is a two-time Stanley Cup winner.
