Gudas Forearm on Zibenajad Could Result in Suspension

The Ottawa Senators lost on Tuesday night, 4-2 to the Flyers at Canadian Tire Center. They also lost forward Mika Zibanejad after this reckless forearm shiver from Flyers' defenseman Radko Gudas (see video above). Zibanejad did not return to action.

Will Gudas, one of the NHL's biggest hitters (currently 3rd in the NHL in hits this season), be disciplined for the hit? Sens coach Dave Cameron certainly hopes so.

“What do I think about it? It’s a five-minute major,” said Cameron. “It’s right to the head. Do I think (it should be reviewed)? For sure, isn’t that what the league is about today, with no headshots? I’d be shocked if that’s not reviewable and suspended.”

The hit was not penalized, but given the fact that it was a direct head shot that injured Zibinejad, one would think that it will lead to a suspension.
