Kane Extends Points Streak to 26

If you look very, very hard at the above replay, you will find Patrick Kane's secondary assist on this Duncan Keith power play goal. It may not be the most earth-shattering point in hockey history but it pushes Kane's consecutive points streak to 26 and gives him the longest such streak in the NHL since the 1992-93 season.

Kane, who is 16-24-40 over the course of the 26-game streak, has already notched the longest points streak for an American-born NHLer, as well as the longest streak in Blackhawks history. He'll continue his quest on Tuesday night at the United Center, when the Hawks host the Avalanche in their first of four meetings this season.

Courtesy of the NHL and Elias, here are some more details on Kane's streak:

The next best streak this season is nine games (Erik Karlsson, Ottawa Senators; David Krejci, Boston Bruins; Bobby Ryan, Senators).
