The Florida Panthers are in 1st Place in the Atlantic. Really.

Do not adjust your monitors. The Florida Panthers are in first place in the Atlantic Division and that is no lie.

Aleksander Barkov potted two goals and Roberto Luongo made 16 saves to lead the Cats to their sixth consecutive victory on Sunday at BB&T Center to catapult the Panthers to the top of the divison.

The Panthers have come a long way since Thanksgiving, but they'll have to check their rearview mirrors early and often with Montreal, Boston, Ottawa and Detroit all within two points.

The Panthers, 20-12-4, will face Montreal on Tuesday at home. The Canadiens led the Atlantic by 10 points on the last day in November (Florida was 15 points back and in 6th place at that time). But it's looking like a different division as New Year's Day approaches:
