Watch: Zac Rinaldo Brings the Noise, Shawn Thornton Brings the Fisticuffs
It wasn't exactly a routine 3-1 win for the Boston Bruins over the Florida Panthers at TD Garden on Saturday. Bruins enforcer Zac Rinaldo made sure of that. Watch of Rinaldo runs Connor Brickley from behind, drawing the ire of Panthers commentator Denis Potvin -- THAT'S CHARGING -- as well as former Bruin Shawn Thornton, who was quick to respond with his fists. Will Rinaldo, who has already been suspended multiple times for over-the-edge infractions, be disciplined by the NHL's department of player safety? Our guess is no. Rinaldo narrowly avoided suspension on October 22nd when he leveled Philadelphia's Sean Couturier. Rinaldo was given two for charging on the play. He finished the game with 9:33 of ice time, seven hits and a minus-1. A pair of goals by Ryan Spooner helped the Bruins to the victory. They improve to 16-9-3 and jump into third place in the Atlantic Division. Boston is 7-1-2 in its last ten but is still sub-.500 at home with a 6-7-1 record. Boston lost its first four games at home this year. Jaromir Jagr's bid to pass Marcel Dionne on the NHL's all-time scoring list failed. Jagr was held shotless in 17:48 of ice time for the Panthers.
