With Johnny Boychuk out for 4-6 weeks, since last week, the Islanders struggles have already begun. They were sliced and diced by the goal-challenged Flyers on Saturday as the rookie pairing of Adam Pelech and Scott Mayfield took their lumps. Boychuk and Hamonic are the team's two most physical defenseman, and were key players on the Islanders penalty kill, which has been among the best in the league this year.

Islanders Lose D Hamonic for 2-3 Weeks
The New York Islanders are up the creek without two of their best paddles. According to Arthur Staple of Newsday the team will be without right defenseman Travis Hamonic for two to three weeks due to a lower body injury.
