Jagr Leads Panthers to Franchise Record 9th Straight Win

The atmosphere was jumping in south Florida as the Florida Panthers completed a perfect homestand to win their franchise-best 9th straight, 2-1 over the Minnesota Wild on Sunday evening at BB&T Center.

Jaromir Jagr scored both Panthers goals--the 734th and 735th goals of his career--to move within six goals of Brett Hull for third on the NHL's all-time list. Jagr's third period marker, a wrister through a screen from the high slot at 8:52, brought the crowd to a frenzy and the Panthers held on from there to seal the hard-fought win.

Florida, now 23-12-4, has reached the 50-point mark. They extend their lead atop the Atlantic Division to three points on the Montreal Canadiens, a team they trailed by 14 points at Thanksgiving.

Here's some of the social media reaction to Jagr's goal:

Next up, the Panthers try to lock up the NHL's longest winning streak in 2015-2016 when they meet the Buffalo Sabres in Buffalo on Tuesday. Currently the Panthers and the Canadiens are tied for the NHL's longest winning streak this season at nine.
