Andrew Ladd Traded to Chicago

The Chicago Blackhawks pulled the trigger on one of the biggest deadline deals to date, trading for left winger Andrew Ladd to bolster their attack and pair with Jonathan Toews as the playoffs draw near. Ladd, who spent three full seasons with the Hawks, helped them win the Stanley Cup in 2010.

The Blackhawks dealt forward Mark Dano, a first-round pick in the 2016 draft plus a conditional pick in the 2018 draft to acquire Ladd, forward Matt Fraser and defenseman Jay Harrison. Winnipeg also retains 36 percent of Ladd's remaining salary in the deal.

"Chicago was at the top of my list and I'm excited to have the opportunity to...win the Stanley Cup again," Ladd said.

"We're thrilled to have Andrew back," said Blackhawks GM Stan Bowman to reporters. "We've been working on this for several weeks now."
