Blandisi Preps for Oscars in New Jersey
Joseph Blandisi has proved he can score in his rookie season. He's got 12 points in 19 games, including this bit of hockey wizardry. Now Blandisi is proving he can act. Check out the Markham, Ontario native pulling out all the stops in an attempt to draw a penalty against the Flyers during New Jersey's 6-3 loss to Philadelphia at the Prudential Center on Tuesday. Andy MacDonald got two for slashing on the play; Blandisi got two for embellishment. A fine from the NHL, which frowns upon such theatrics, might not be coming though. In order for Blandisi to be fined, he'd have had to be warned already. The NHL does not make its warnings public but there haven't been any Oscar-worthy performances caught on camera, so he'll likely escape a fine.
