The St. Louis Blues got one goalie back on Monday, as Jake Allen played his first hockey since being placed on the IR on January 9. That was good.
What was bad, very bad in fact, is that Allen only got into last night's game at Scottrade Center because Elliot was injured while making a save in the first period. St. Louis placed Brian Elliot on injuried reserve today after the backup was injured during last night's loss to the Sharks. According to the Blues, Elliot has a lower-body injury and will be re-evaluated in four weeks.
Elliott has played in 34 games for the Blues this season, registering a 17-7-6 record. He ranks fifth in the League in goals against average (2.14) and third in save percentage (.929).
The Blues have recalled goaltender Pheonix Copley from the Chicago Wolves to back up Allen.
