McDonagh Set to Return as Rangers Prep for Blackhawks

Rangers captain Ryan McDonagh will make his return tonight as his team faces the Blackhawks in a huge cross-conference matchup at Madison Square Garden. After missing four games with a concussion suffered ten days ago in a game against the Flyers, McDonagh has been cleared for contact. McDonagh is 7-19-26 in 52 games for the Rangers and is fourth on the team with a plus-13.

In other news on the Rangers blue line, Dan Boyle says he's feeling fit after missing Tuesday's practice with the flu.

But defenseman Marc Staal could miss for the Rangers due to the impending birth of his child.

On Chicago's side of the puck, Marian Hossa is expected to remain out of action for two weeks with an injury to his left leg.

The Rangers have earned points in their last ten home games (8-0-2), but lost to the Blackhawks 1-0 when the team last visited Madison Square Garden in March of last year.

The goaltending matchup is a good one, to say the least:

Puck drops at 5 New York time.
