Watch: Legwand Scores from Long Range

File under: Get pucks on the net and good things will happen.

Check out Buffalo's David Legwand, scoring hockey's equivalent to a 75-yard field goal--and a shorty, no less--against Columbus tonight. The wind, apparently, was blowing in Legwand's direction. The puck took a wicked bounce from all the sidespin that Legwand put on it, and Blue Jackets goalie Joonas Korpisalo really didn't have a shot. That does sound strange, doesn't it? A goalie not having a chance to stop a 150-foot wrist shot. But have a look at the video and tell us you don't agree.

Buffalo went on to win 4-0.

"It's something that's a lot of luck," Legwand said of his fifth--and weirdest--goal. "Obviously you throw it on net. You throw it on the net because there's nothing else to do. It has a chance to go in if it's on net. I never expected it to go in."
