Anderson Takes Weber Slapper to Mask

Frederik Andersen got the nod in goal for the Anaheim Ducks on Tuesday night in Nashville after the Ducks dropped games one and two with John Gibson between the pipes. Anderson has been solid thus far, facing all 14 shots he's faced, including this absolute bullet off the stick of Predator's defenseman Shea Weber (Yes, that's he of the 108.5 MPH slapper, also the defending, two-time champion of the NHL's annual fastest shot competition).

Talk about heat. Watch the puck fly afer it hits Andersen's mask, high up into the netting in the far corner behind the glass. Takes some courage to come out and cut off the angle against a shooter like Weber, and Anderson did it in style. He went down for a moment after the whistle, but appeared to be no worse for the wear.

Anaheim leads 2-0 late in period two on the strength of goals by Jamie McGinn and Rickard Rackell.
