Carter OT Winner Puts Kings Back in First
Jeff Carter stole the puck from Sean Monahan and blazed end-to-end for a breakaway winner to put the Kings, at least temporarily, in 1st place in the Pacific Division. Carter's goal, scored at :40 into the 3-on-3 session, capped a furious comeback for the Kings. Kris Versteeg scored at 19:24 of the third with the goalie pulled to tie it, before Carter buried his 24th to help the visiting Kings snap a five-game road losing streak. The Kings are a point ahead of Anaheim, but the Ducks currently lead Winnipeg 1-0 after two periods. If Anaheim closes out the victory they'll restore their one-point lead and have a game in hand on the Kings.
