Flyers Qualify for Post-Season with Win over Pens

The Philadelphia Flyers are going to the playoffs.

Wayne Simmonds scored a pair of goals to lead his team to a 3-1 victory over the Penguins, assuring the Flyers the final wild card spot and a first-round date with the Washington Capitals in the post-season.

The Flyers finish at 41-27-14, capping a frantic run that saw them eliminate Boston from the playoffs on Saturday.

Philadelphia split its four season meetings with the Capitals. The teams last met in the playoffs in 2008, with the Flyers winning a seventh game in OT.
