The Penguins got off to a flying start on Wednesday night as they took it to the Rangers, 5-2, behind Patric Hornqvist's first career playoff hat-trick.
Hornqvist racked up a four-point night, meaning he has already tied his career-best total for points in a post-season (he got four in ten games in the 2011-2012 playoffs for the Preds).
The Swede became the first player to record a hat-trick in his team's playoff opener in 13 years. The last player to do it was Alexander Mogilny in 2003 (with Toronto):
Patric Hornqvist is 1st @penguins player w/ hat trick in the team's playoff opener. Last for any team: Mogilny w/ TOR, 04/09/03 @EliasSports
