18-year-old Matthew Tkachuk Scores First NHL Goal
Highly touted first-round draft pick Matthew Tkachuk scored his first NHL goal during the third period of Tuesday night's battle against the Sabres at Scotiabank Saddledome. Tkachuk is looking more an more like a shoe-in to stay with the flames beyond the nine-game mark, which is where he'd have to be sent down for the Flames not to burn one of his three entry-level paygrade years. The 6'2, 200-lb winger was a minus-1 with seven shots in his first three games. His Flames, currently tied at 3-all with Buffalo, are looking for their first win tonight.
