Auston Matthews Becomes First Player to Ever Score Four Goals in NHL Debut

No. 1 overall draft pick Auston Matthews is making his NHL debut tonight in Ottawa. And... it's going pretty well, thank you. The 19-year-old has scored each of Toronto's four goals, becoming the first player in NHL history to score four goals in his league debut.

The best thing about it? He has another period to go.

The Leafs lead the Sens, 4-3, after two. Matthews, playing on a line with William Nylander and Zach Hyman, has six shots on goal in 11:13 of ice time. This is a line that has 38 NHL games under their belt, combined!

Here's a snippet of the Twitter reaction from other, highly envious NHL players:

Oh, and this is funny:

We'll be back to update this post as soon as he scores again!
