McLellan on Oilers: We Looked Like Bad News Bears

If you didn't get a chance to see the Edmonton Oilers suffer their first loss of the season on Sunday night, don't worry about it. Oilers head coach Todd McLellan gave the media a thorough rundown after the 6-2 shellacking.

"We had guys falling all over the place, we didn't execute, our passing was poor," he said. "I think each and every game you learn lessons. We learned a lesson that we're not quite ready to take a step. We can't handle prosperity yet. We just kicked right between the legs and we deserved it."

Come for the team talk, stay for McLellan's lambasting of Oilers' forward Benoit Pouliot.

The Oilers dropped to 2-1 on the season.

In other Oilers news, the team decided to cancel a league-mandated day off to practice on Monday, and the NHLPA is looking into that decision to determine whether or not the team is commiting an infraction.
