Frederik Andersen Robs Zemgus Girgensons with Sliding Save
Frederik Andersen stopped 42 of 43 shots to backstop the Leafs to a 2-1 win over the Sabres at the KeyBank Center. But this was the piece de resistance for Anderson, who slid post-to-post to rob Zemgus Girgensons point-blank and then on his second chance. Andersen was a point of concern after he gave up seven goals on 24 shots in an October 25 loss to the Lightning, but since then he has allowed two or less goals in each of his last four starts. The Leafs improve to 4-4-1 with the win. Mitch Marner scored two goals (his second and third) in the win. No.1 overall draft pick Auston Matthews was held without a point for the fifth consecutive game for the Leafs.
