Erik Karlsson Becomes Highest-Scoring Defenseman in Senators History

26-year-old Erik Karlsson has become the highest-scoring defenseman in Ottawa Senators history. This unassisted goal at 7:19 of the second period of tonight's game versus the Sharks in San Jose gave Karlsson his 411th point, moving him past Wade Redden on the Sens' all-time list.

Karlsson had picked up an assist (his 19th) on Ottawa's first goal, allowing him to tie Redden.

Karlson ties Mike Green for 96th on the all-time list. He also ties Green for 11th on the active list. Of all the active defenseman with 400 or more points, Karlsson is far and away ahead in the points per game category (.81).
