Kane Gets Drilled by Holden and Makes J.T. Miller Pay for it
Patrick Kane got mashed against the boards when he tried to weave his way through rush hour traffic behind the Rangers goal line on Friday night at the United Center. First Kane gets nudged by Marc Staal, which changes the angle of Nick Holden's hit, making it essentially an unplanned hit from behind. Remarkably, Kane survives the hit and gets up to gather the puck and get a good scoring opportunity. Then he blows a fuse after Antti Raanta stones him and throws a massive elbow on J.T. Miller. Kane would get a minor for hi-sticking on the play, which was served by Ryan Hartman. Kane went to the locker room to get checked out and returned to action later. The Rangers notched the 1-0 OT win on a goal by Nick Holden at :55 seconds of overtime. The victory improves Raanta's career record at the United Center to 15-0-3. The former Blackhawk won back-to-back starts on thursday and Friday for the Rangers, allowing just one goal against the Jets in Thursday's 2-1 win.
