Video: Laine Ties Crosby for NHL Goal Scoring Lead

Patrik Laine owns a share of the NHL's goal scoring lead after rifling this wrist shot from his "office" at the top of the right circle off a defender and past Detroit netminder Petr Mrazek for his 17th goal.

The 18-year-old now has 17 goals in 29 games, which puts him on a pace for 48 this season. That would be the fifth-highest goal total for a rookie in NHL history.

He's tied with Sidney Crosby for the NHL lead now.

Laine also had an assist and a shootout marker in Winnipeg's 4-3 shootout loss to Detroit at MTS Centre.
