Watch: Sam Henley Gets First NHL Goal and Mom is Pumped
Nice moment in Colorado tonight as Sam Henley scored in his NHL debut after being called up from San Antonio. The 23-year-old Quebec native has been in the AHL for two seasons but Henley, signed as an undrafted free agent by the Avalanche in 2014, made his cup of coffee count by scoring the equalizer at 14:25 of the second. Check out the reaction of his mom and girlfriend--beautiful stuff. The red-hot Blue Jackets came away with the win on a Boone Jenner goal at 8:54 of the third to improve to 13-5-4. Colorado, struggling pretty mightily, drops to 9-12-1 and 0-3-1 on their current five-game homestand.
