Watch: Sharks Prospect Time Meier Scores First Goal against Carey Price

Timo Meier scored his first NHL goal in his first NHL period. And he scored it off of Carey Price. The 6'2" 210-lb Swiss could be a significan player in San Jose this year. He probably would have started the year with the big club if a four-week bout with mononucleosis didn't derail his training camp.

Here's a bit more from the San Jose Mercury News:

Per Elias Sports, the last Shark to score on his first shot in NHL debut was Matt Carle on March 25, 2006 in a road game against the Minnesota Wild. Meier, 20, started the game and played on a line with Donskoi and Chris Tierney. Meier was called up from the Barracuda on Thursday after he scored nine goals in his first 17 AHL games.
