Babcock on Rielly: We Have to Manage This
Mike Babcock says that he and his staff will know more about the extent of Morgan Rielly's injury tomorrow, but he does seem to be expecting the injury to be somewhat serious, based on his comments to reporters after the Leafs 4-3 win over the Sabres at Air Canada Center. "Wehave to manage this well, I don't know if he's out a week or ten days or a month," said Babcock. "I don't have a clue." Babcock added that he was pleased with the way his defense handled the loss of Rielly on Tuesday. "I thought [Jake] Gardiner and [Nikita] Zaitsev were great tonight, stepped up," he said. "I thought [Hunwick] had a solid game--actually all of them were pretty good." Gardiner led the Leafs with 29:24 of ice time. Babcock also added that he has no timetable on when Martin Marincin will return from his lower body injury, which was suffered in mid-December.
