Kings and Carter Continue to Thrive in OT

The Los Angeles Kings are an overtime juggernaut.

And so is Jeff Carter.

The Kings improved to 9-1 in games decided in overtime when Carter buried his 23rd of the season at 1:36 of the extra session to give L.A. a 3-2 win. The Kings lead the NHL in overtime wins and according to Jon Rosen the franchise is an NHL-best 21-4 since the league went to the 3-on-3 format at the beginning of last season.

Carter pulls within three goals of Sidney Crosby for the NHL lead with 23. He is one of eight players to have cracked the 20-goal mark this season.

At 22-17-4 the Kings are clinging to the 8th wild card slot in the West. The Jets, meanwhile, drop to 20-22-4, four points behind the Kings' pace.
