Rielly out day-to-day with lower body injury

Morgan Rielly confirmed that he'd be out day-to-day with a lower body injury. After being removed from Tuesday night's game against Buffalo when he crashed into the boards, Rielly says he's walking around and feeling better.

"The way it looks is pretty much the way it felt," said Rielly, "but I'm happy that I'm walking around and everything and feeling better than I was yesterday. That's the most important thing."

Rielly is Toronto's leading minute-eater on defense, so he will certainly be missed.

"He won't play tomorrow, and he's day-to-day," head coach Mike Babcock confirmed. Frank Corrado will be inserted into the Leafs lineup for Thursday's game against the Rangers at Air Canada Center. The 23-year-old played one game for Toronto this season, on Nov 12.

The brunt of extra minutes will likely go to Jake Gardiner, who played nearly thirty minutes after Rielly went down on Tuesday.

"I think he's played well, like every player he has some dips, but he's played well. He really moves the puck well and really skates. What we're on him lots abotu is defensive detail, just because we think he can get to another level as a player yet."
