Subban Activated from IR, Set to Play Friday

P.K. Subban will return to action on Friday.

Nashville's star defenseman missed 16 games with a lower back injury and will play on Friday at Edmonton. He has been out since December 15.

"I think it's been about five weeks since I've been into a hockey game," Subban told reporters today. "Just trying to get my feet wet--this will be the first step for me."

The Predators have dangled in and out of a playoff spot this season, and they've suffered quite a few injuries. James Neal has missed time, Roman Josi has missed time, and the team has struggled to forge an indentity with key players out of the lineup.

"It's not easy with some of the players that we've missed the past month, in and out of the lineup," Subban said.

The defenseman, who was traded from Montreal this summer for Shea Weber, has seven goals and 17 points in 27 games for the Predators this season.
