Watch: Marchand Trips Stralman in a Slew-Footy Way
If all Brad Marchand got was a $10k fine for his slewfoot on Niklas Kronwall, he'll likely get nothing for this dangerous trip of Anton Stralman. People will talk about it, and deservedly so because of Marchand's reputation for slew-foots (he's now been suspended once and fined twice) but this play looks pretty innocent. The Bruins' forward starts to head up ice looking for a stretch pass but quickly changes direction and makes a sharp turn that steers him into Stralman. It probably could go for a tripping minor (he didn't get one), but we don't expect to her about Marchand being disciplined for this. The Bruins got the 4-3 win to sink Tampa further down the standings. Patrice Bergeron continued to heat up for Boston, scoring his 12th of the season and fifth of the month. He has doubled his points total in January, scoring 5-8-13. Tampa falls to 22-23-6 on the seasons. They are just six points out of a Wild Card spot in the East but they will need to leapfrog five teams (Toronto, Florida, Islanders, Carolina and New Jersey) to get there.
