Jets' Trouba Suspended Two Games for Head Shot
The Winnipeg Jets will lose defenseman Jacob Trouba for two games. Trouba was suspended two games for his hit to the head of Senators forward Mark Stone during Winnipeg's 3-2 win at Canadian Tire Center on Sunday. Stone left the game and did not return and it isn't known when he'll play again. Senators head coach Guy Boucher expressed his displeasure on a night that he lost both Stone and Mike Hoffman to injury, saying “It’s a clear shoulder straight to the head. Things happen fast and people have to make decisions. I don’t want to (do the league’s job). They usually do a very good job so we’re going to rely on that.” Under the terms of the Collective Bargaining Agreement and, based on his average annual salary, Trouba will forfeit $33,333.34. The money goes to the Players' Emergency Assistance Fund.
