Watch: Crosby Speaks on the 1,000 Point Milestone
The conversation started nonchalant. "It's nice to get a win," said Sidney Crosby in typical ho-hum fashion after becoming the 12th-fastest player in NHL history to reach the 1,000 point mark. But Crosby would later admit that the moment was special. "It's pretty emotional," he he told reporters. "Especially when you start to look up at the jumbotron and you see all those things. They go by pretty quick, you're kind of flashing all these plays and years, that's how fast it feels when you're looking at it. Time goes by quick but you really try to soak in moments like that." Crosby says that as good as the moment was, he's happy to have it behind him. It's not something you want to be chasing for too long. "You want to get it--it's great number, but it's not something you want to talk about for a week or a week and a half. It means that you're not putting it in that much. We had lots of chances the last few games and I could tell guys were looking for me a little bit more and things like that--I appreciate it but I'm glad they don't have to think about it either or answer about it."
