Islanders Lose Strome to Broken Wrist
The New York Islanders have likely lost Ryan Strome for the season. The winger/center suffered a broken wrist after taking a hit from New York Rangers' defenseman Brady Skjei during the Islanders 3-2 win at Madison Square Garden on Wednesday. That's tough news for the Islanders, as Strome was beginning to show signs of returning to his 50-point form of 2014-15 under interim coach Doug Weight. Strome had 13 goals and 30 points on the season, and was given more time at center by Weight after Jack Capuano's firing. The 23-year-old had 17 goals and 33 assists in 2014-15, but found himself in Capuano's doghouse for much of the last two seasons.
