Even though he has been ruled out for the remainder of the playoffs, Zach Werenski has become a bit of a cult hero thanks to his courageous attempt to come back and play in Game 3 on Sunday despite suffering a bloodied face that would eventually become so swollen that Werenski could no longer see. After the game it was revealed that Werenski had suffered a fractured facial bone, which made it even easier for fans of true hockey grit to worship at Werenski's altar. After Game 3 Blue Jackets head coach would claim that Werenski had "balls as big as the building," and if Torts says it, it has to be true, right? The rest, as they say, is history. But the Blue Jackets -- at least for now -- aren't history. Werenski will be there in spirit as Columbus tries to stay alive in their best of seven series against the defending Stanley Cup champion Penguins. This fired-up fan has made sure of that.
