He had a disappointing regular season as well, putting up just 17 points in 61 games, but DeBoer hopes that his experience will help the Sharks as they try to stave off elimination. “We know (Donskoi),” Sharks coach Pete DeBoer said, according to the San Jose Mercury News. “We went with our most experienced lineup here, elimination game. He’s been here before. He’s delivered for us before.”
Donskoi in for Meier tonight. PDB says the difference was that Donskoi played in a lot of big playoff games with #SJSharks last year— Paul Gackle (@GackleReport) April 22, 2017

Donskoi in, Meier out for Sharks in Game 6
Timo Meier will be a healthy scratch for the San Jose Sharks on Saturday night when the take on the Edmonton Oilers at HP Pavilion in Game 6 of their best of seven series. The 20-year-old Swiss has had a strong series for San Jose and was even moved up from the fourth line by Sharks coach Peter DeBoer, but he failed to put up any points in five games despite asserting himself physically. Joonas Donskoi, who scored 12 points in 24 games in last year's playoffs, will draw in. The 25-year-old Finn has one point and is a minus-3 in four playoff games this season for San Jose.
