Habs Make a Few Lineup Changes for Game 3

According to Stu Cowan of the Montreal Gazette, Claude Julien is making a few lineup changes ahead of Game 3 tonight at Madison Square Garden.

Defenseman Brandon Davidson will be in for Nikita Nesterov on the blue line, and Torey Mitchell will slot in for Andreas Martinsen on the checking line.

Nesterov was in Julien's doghouse during game two, and he only received 13:05 of ice time, which forced Julien to lean hard on Shea Weber, Andrei Markov and Jeff Petry.

Here's what Julien had to say about his defense pairings after the morning skate in Manhattan, per Cowan:

“First of all, I don’t know that we’re going with hard pairings. We haven’t done that now for the last few games here. We’ve kind of mixed and matched, which we probably will continue to do. But having (Davidson) in the lineup I think he’s a hungry young player that has played well for us. The fact that I have some options, I’m certainly going to use them.”

Davidson will be making his NHL Playoff debut. Mitchell is a veteran of 72 playoff games, including 12 with Montreal in 2014-15.
