Video: Eric Staal Helped off Ice after Violent Collision with Boards

Things simply are not going the Minnesota Wild's way in their series with St. Louis. And to make matters worse they lost Eric Staal late in the second period after he collided dangerously with the boards. Staal needed several minutes before he could get up and be helped off the ice, but he appeared to be conscious and alert, though moving extremely gingerly.

He has been ruled out for the remainder of the game, and has gone to Regions Hospital for further evaluation.

The Wild are facing elimination today at Xcel Energy Center. They trail the Blues 3-1 in their best of seven series and are behind 3-2 with about eight minutes left in the third period.
