Watch: Connor McDavid Scores First Playoff Goal

The Edmonton Oilers battled back to level their series with the San Jose Sharks at Rogers Place on Friday night, and Connor McDavid picked up his first playoff goal--shorthanded, no less--when he whistled a wrist shot between the pads of Martin Jones at 10:31 of the third period.

The 20-year-old Art Ross Trophy winner only registered two shots on goal in Friday's game, but along with linemates Patrick Maroon and Leon Draisaitl, McDavid was a dominant force. The trio registered a plus-15 Corsi and were relentless on the puck in the neutral and defensive zones to keep the Sharks at bay all night.

Both of Edmonton's goals came shorthanded and they killed all six penalties they took, in addition to scoring the two shorties.

"We just played our game," said McDavid after the game. "It was good to get that momentum going. Guys believe now."

The Sharks and Oilers will meet on Sunday night at San Jose for Game 3, at 7PM Pacific.
