Watch: Joe Thornton Still Day-to-Day after Morning Skate in Edmonton

Joe Thornton is still day-to-day for the Sharks as his team prepares for Game 2 of their series with the Edmonton Oilers at Rogers Place tonight.

Thornton said he is slowly improving, and has a lot of confidence that he's close to being where he needs to be.

"It was good to test it a little bit more today," said Thornton, who injured the knee in an April 2 collision with Vancouver's Michael Chaput. "It was a good step today for me."

Thornton, who had a streak of 121 consecutive playoff games played snapped in San Jose's 3-2 overtime win on Wednesday, says that the fact that the Sharks won Game 1 is not weighing heavily on his decision to play.

"Not really," he said. "It's obviously a luxury to have, but I have to come back when I'm ready and I'll know when I'm ready."

Sharks insider Kevin Kurz is hinting that Thornton will likely sit out, and we tend to agree with him based on Jumbo's words in this video. See Thornton's media scrum below:
